Events and Projects
YUMI has not only been organising its own projects, it's been supporting projects organised by local people, and been asked to become involved in several others.

People who've been involved in YUMI have been empowered to achieve many things as a direct result of this involvement: two food businesses has been set up, schools, colleges and playgroups have asked people to provide workshops and classes, two business set-up courses for women have been organised, TV and radio have asked for programmes to be recorded, public speaking engagements have been made, and one person has become Science and Engineering Ambassador for Yorkshire Business and Education partnership.

The 'YUMI cooks' are also making a name for themselves: they've provided the international element at several key local events: the fmous Festival of Food and Drink: Mini Mela '07 as part of the lead up to the International Bollywood Awards (IIFA), the cultural diversity festival, a multicultural Xmas fair, and even a hip hop evening!

YUMI has now launched its latest project, an arts venture to explore creative dialogue between local artists and the community. This is a really unusual approach to creating art. To find out more please click here to view the project page.
